Hazelbury Primary School is looking for an inspiring and dedicated Class Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate may be appointed to either an early years or KS1/KS2 role, depending on their experience, suitability and individual preference. As a forward-thinking school within Connect Education Trust, Hazelbury offers a wealth of facilities, a stimulating learning environment and a passionate team committed to providing the very best educational experiences for our children. We are a national centre of excellence for oracy and have been selected by the DfE to be a RISE school due to our excellent teaching and learning practice in this area. We believe that excellent teaching makes a significant difference to children’s lives.
Our school benefits from an exceptional range of facilities and resources designed to enrich teaching and learning across the curriculum- making teaching exciting and innovative. Every pupil has access to a 1:1 Chromebook, supporting digital learning, creativity and the development of essential skills for the future. Our specialist facilities include a Digital Immersion Suite, a dedicated Design and Technology room, a performing arts studio and a music room, providing exciting opportunities for pupils to explore, create and learn.
Beyond the classroom, our extensive outdoor learning spaces, school farm, edible playground, pond and orchard offer unique opportunities for practical learning and environmental exploration. We also provide Forest School experiences onsite that encourage children to develop independence, resilience and problem-solving skills. Together, these facilities enable our teachers to deliver a rich, engaging and ambitious curriculum that prepares pupils for successful futures.
We recognise that our staff play a vital role in ensuring the best outcomes for every child, and their wellbeing is central to our approach. We are committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance and creating a supportive working environment where colleagues feel valued and able to thrive. All teachers receive a MacBook and a Chromebook to support effective teaching, planning, preparation and communication. Our staff wellbeing initiatives include dedicated wellbeing days, an attendance reward scheme, access to an on-site staff gym, on-site staff Daycare and access to a support hub for mental health and wellbeing.
We are strongly committed to investing in our staff and providing high-quality professional development and opportunities for career progression. At Hazelbury, you will have opportunities to develop your expertise, explore your professional interests and collaborate with colleagues across the school, the Trust and the wider education sector.
With easy access to central London, Hazelbury is ideally located for candidates looking to live in either inner or outer London. Joining our team offers the opportunity to work in a well-resourced, forward-thinking school while benefiting from the professional and personal opportunities available across the capital and its surrounding areas.
In line with recent legislation, applicants must have a command of spoken English that is sufficient to effectively carry out duties of the role.
We welcome all visits to the school- please contact the school office on 020 8807 3140 or email [email protected] to arrange this.
All Connect Education Trust is committed to safeguarding, therefore all employees working within the Trust must have the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of our children and young people. All candidates are required to complete the school’s ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ declaration and will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). For posts in regulated activity, this will include a barred list check. The Trust also requires consent from applicants to carry out online searches of publicly available information, including social media, prior to interview. The Trust and its schools are committed to ensuring that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment or is disadvantaged on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status or race, and we welcome applications from all sections of society.
We encourage applications from people from all backgrounds and aim to have a workforce that represents the wider society that we serve. We pride ourselves on being an employer of choice.
