Executive Principals, Secondary (Trustwide)
Are you a values driven school leader?
As a Trust, we believe in growing together as a family. Underpinned by our values of Kindness, Respect and Teamwork, our schools are places where young people can grow and excel, and where colleagues work together to build a culture of excellence.
We are looking for Executive Principals to join our Trust and become associate members of our Executive Team.
Lead improvement across a group of very different schoolsHeartwood Learning Trust is a close-knit family of fourteen schools in Hull, York and across North Yorkshire. Our six secondary schools and two alternative provision academies could hardly be more varied: Church schools and community schools, large and small, serving very different communities in and around York, Hull, Scarborough and Selby.
The roleYou will lead improvement across our secondary schools and alternative provision academies, working closely with their Principals: supporting them, challenging them and helping them to lead their schools well. Your work could focus on one school or a cluster, such as our schools in Scarborough/York or our alternative provision academies. You will start where improvement is most needed and, in time, help our stronger schools become even better. As an associate member of the Executive Team, your priorities will be to:
Raise standards of education and outcomes, starting with the schools that need it most
Develop the leadership capacity of Principals and their senior teams, so that improvement lasts
Help shape and deliver the Trust’s strategy for the next five to ten years, including its approach to inclusion and SEND
You will be an experienced headteacher or principal, with a successful track record of school improvement, ready to take the next step. This role is a chance to bring everything you have learned to a wide and varied group of schools, and to make a difference for many more young people. It will suit a flexible and committed team player who relishes new challenges and wants to keep learning. We are looking for a resilient leader and a great people person, who believes, as we do, that kindness and constructive challenge go hand in hand. The role involves working in York, Hull, Scarborough and Selby, and travelling between them.
Whether you are already with us or joining usWe warmly welcome applications from Principals already leading schools in our Trust, as well as from leaders elsewhere. If you lead one of our schools now, you already know our schools, our ways of working and our values. If you are joining us from outside, you will bring a fresh perspective, and we will help you get to know our schools quickly. All applications will be considered on the same basis.
