This role is to teach and oversee the management of A-level Dance. Dance is a popular course with 16 students currently enrolled and the course expanding each year. Units covered in Dance include: practical performance, including solo and quartet work, choreography, and critical engagement through the study and analysis of professional dance works, practitioners and the historical development of dance.
You would be the sole teacher within Dance, however, there is a strong collaborative and supportive approach amongst all colleagues, and you will work closely with the Performing Arts, Drama and Digital Music team due to the performance element. We also run a dance show to showcase all students’ practical work in preparation for their exams as well as extra curriculum routines that have been choreographed .The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for the teaching Dance at Post-16 and have the ability to inspire students both practically and academically.
