The Governors of The King’s School, Grantham, a selective grammar school for boys aged 11 to 18, seek an inspiring and ambitious Head to lead the school from September 2027.
Re-founded in 1528 and the school of Sir Isaac Newton, King’s is among the highest performing schools in the East Midlands, combining exceptional academic outcomes with a rich tradition of sport, music, the Combined Cadet Force and service.
The new Head will arrive as the school celebrates the Newton tercentenary in 2027 and prepares for the 500th anniversary of its re-foundation in 2028. It is a rare opportunity to shape the next chapter of a historic school that is confident in its values and ambitious for every student.
We are looking for a leader with a proven record of raising standards, a clear educational vision and the personal warmth to inspire students, staff, parents and the wider community. You will be an outstanding communicator, a strategic thinker with sound financial judgment, and uncompromising in your commitment to safeguarding and to the education of the whole person.
In return we offer motivated, courteous and able students, a talented and dedicated staff, a supportive and experienced Board of Governors, and a school with a strong reputation and a secure foundation from which to build.
Visits to the school are warmly encouraged and will take place on 5 November at 18:00 or 11 November at 17:00. To arrange a visit, please use the contact details provided in the advertisement.
Applicants are encouraged to review the School's policies including the Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy, by using the link below.
