Crowdys Hill School is a dynamic and expanding special school for pupils in the Swindon area and beyond. We have over 330 pupils on roll, ranging from 4-19 years of age. All our students have moderate or severe learning difficulties and social communication difficulties. Some have autism, ADHD or other more complex needs.
Our team consists of three Speech and Language Therapists, a Specialist Teacher and two Therapy Assistants, working collaboratively to support pupils aged 4-19 with complex needs, autism and associated speech, language and communication needs. We are embedded within the school community and work alongside education staff to create communication-rich learning environments throughout the day.
Crowdys Hill offers a unique and varied setting in which to practise. Therapy takes place across classrooms, sensory spaces, our on-site farm and within community-based learning opportunities, allowing communication skills to be developed in meaningful, real-life contexts.
We have a strong and established AAC provision and work closely with regional specialist providers, including AAC West. You'll join a team that values collaboration, professional growth and staff wellbeing, with dedicated supervision, peer support and opportunities to develop specialist expertise.
The role offers the opportunity to:
- Manage your own caseload.
- Deliver assessment and intervention for pupils with a range of communication needs.
- Work closely with families, school staff and other professionals.
- Deliver training and coaching to embed communication strategies across the school.
- Access a wide range of CPD and professional development opportunities.
We welcome applications from both experienced therapists and those at the start of their careers.
We are offering a term-time only role, and are happy to consider part- or full-time applicants (up to 5 days per week).
