Sonning CE Primary School has a fantastic reputation that is fully deserved. It is a result of high academic achievement, our caring, nurturing environment and our deep-rooted ethos. At Sonning, we aim to equip our children with the skills they need to make positive choices in everything they do. Like the wise man who built his house upon the rock (Matthew 7:24-25), our vision is "building strong foundations for the years ahead".

As part of this, we build excellent relationships with each other; we are a team that looks out for each other and all share a desire to provide the very best education for pupils (academically, emotionally and socially) and ensure they build strong foundations for their time at school and beyond.

Our recent Ofsted report (July 2025) rated us Outstanding in all areas and described our school as “exceptional” - this is an opportunity to work in an incredibly supportive, dedicated and passionate team. Pupil behaviour is also excellent. Our school was recently placed in the top 300 schools in the country according to KS2 data (source: The Sunday Times list of top 1000 schools).
